Further notes
In Waste Management, table editing for application tables is currently permitted. Therefore ensure that the authorization for the transaction Data Browser (SE16) is locked in your production system.
The authorization objects in Waste Management are:
- C_EHSW_PRT Waste management business partner
- C_EHSW_EAD Disposal processing
- C_EHSW_EAF Disposal processing functions
- C_EHSW_WMN Disposal documents
In disposal processing, for example, the following authorizations are checked in sequence, if the user chooses Display Entry Document in the menu:
- First the system checks whether the user has authorization for the transaction WAE03 (Display entry document, authorization object S_TCODE).
- Then it checks whether the user has general authorization to display entry documents (authorization field Activity in the authorization object C_EHSW_EAD) and whether the user has authorization to display entry documents of the selected document category (authorization field EANOCAT in the authorization object C_EHSW_EAD).
If these authorizations are available, the user is allowed to enter the initial screen in disposal processing in display mode.
- On this screen, the following additional authorization checks are then run:
- The system checks when building the screen whether the user has authorization to use the functions in the application toolbar and the function list (authorization object C_EHSW_EAF). If the user does not have authorization for a function, the system does not display it in the screen.
- If the user chooses the detail view, the system checks whether the user has authorizations to display and change partner assignments and account assignment objects (authorization field EAACTVT in the authorization object C_EHSW_EAD). If the relevant authorizations are missing, the Partner assignment and Account assignment tabs are not displayed.
- If the user chooses Create or Change, the system checks whether the user has general authorization to create and change entry documents (authorization field Activity in the authorization object C_EHSW_EAD) and whether the user has authorization to create and change entry documents of the selected document category (authorization field EANOCAT of the authorization object C_EHSW_EAD).
Functions from other components are also used in Waste Management (for example, functions from the Basic Data and Tools, Product Safety, and Materials Management components). You should therefore ensure that the users also obtain the required authorizations for these functions. If different departments in your enterprise are responsible for Waste Management and the other components, the departments may wish to agree jointly on the assignment of authorizations.
