In this IMG activity, you create the field attributes for master data entry for each role of the waste management business partner. This means you specify which fields in master data entry are of which type:
- Required entry fields
- Optional entry fields
- Display fields
- Hidden fields
The actual form a field takes results from the link between the field attribute specified here and the field attribute you specified for the partner type (IMG activity Specify Field Attributes per Partner Type), and the field attribute you specified for the activity (Create, Change, Display) (IMG activity Specify Field Attributes per Activity).
Logic Operation Rules
- First the field attributes that you have specified for the role and partner type are linked with a logic operation for each field. Hiding a field has the highest priority, then required entry, display, and optional entry. If a field attribute is not specified for a criterion (partner type or role), the result of the logic operation is the field attribute of the other criterion.
Examples for linking:
Criterion 1 Hide Optional entry Optional entry
Criterion 2 Optional entry Display Required entry
Interim result Hide Display Required entry
- The interim result above is then linked with the field attribute for the action. The same rules also apply in principle. In addition, all fields become no longer ready for input with the action Display.
Examples for linking:
Interim result Required Required Optional
Field attrib. for action Optional Not specif. Display
Data maint. action Create Display Change
Result Required Display Display
Example
Your enterprise is a waste generator with off-site disposal only. In this case, you can hide the fields Integration: Customer and Integration: Supplier for the role WAA100 (waste generator).
Requirements
The fields, for which you specify the field attributes here, must be in a view that you have specified in the IMG activity Specify Views for the role of waste management business partner. If you do not specify a view for a role there, the view is not displayed for the role, meaning that all fields are hidden, independent of the field attributes.
