In this IMG activity you specify the number ranges from which number assignment is performed for the key, for the following Waste Management components:

There are two kinds of number assignment for objects:

  • Internal number assignment

    When an object is created, the SAP System assigns a sequential number from an internal number range interval that you have specified.

  • External number assignment

    When an object is created you can specify a number from the external number range interval that you have specified.

Requirements

In order for you to be able to specify the corresponding number ranges you will require the authorization for the following number range objects:

  • W_PARTNER    Waste management business partner
  • EWA_WAA100    Waste generation
  • EWA_WAA130    Waste disposal
  • EWA_WAA160    Waste transport
  • EWA_DISWAY    Disposal channel
  • EWA_APPROV    Waste approval

These objects are checked in the authorization object S_NUMBER (Object class BC_Z).

Standard settings

Default settings are delivered.

Recommendation

Use external number ranges if you want to assign keys that allow you to easily identify what they actually stand for ("mnemonic" keys).

Activities

Change the number ranges or number range intervals in the standard system if required. When doing so, note the following:

  • An object's number range intervals may not overlap.
  • You may not create your own number range intervals for the following objects. You can only change the limits of the number range intervals that are delivered in the standard system by entering data in the From number and To number fields:
    • Waste management business partner
    • Waste generation
    • Waste disposal
    • Waste transport
    • Disposal channel
  • You can enter any internal and external number range intervals for waste approvals. In the IMG activity Specify Waste Approval Types you can assign an internal and external number range to each waste approval type.
