Assortment priorities describe the presentation requirement of a material in a plant. They are the prerequisite for inspecting a plant to see whether the goods presentation requirement is being fulfilled, and they are copied over to the assortment list.
The "external" assortment priority is used in the user interfaces; an "internal" priority is always assigned to it. The internal priority represents the true priority value.

Standard settings
SAP ships the assortment priorities "blank" and 0...9, with identical external and internal priorities.
Recommendation
External and internal priority should only differ in exceptional circumstances.
