Use
In this IMG activity, you make the system settings that define the permitted or relevant units of measure for materials in the Material Master application for the maintenance of materials in the SAP Retail Store. The permitted units of measure maintained here are displayed in a dropdown list in the maintenance dialog when the input help for the Unit of Measure field is called.
In the first sub-step, you create Customizing or grouping schemas, that group the (required) units of measure. In the second sub-step, you assign these grouping schemas to the plants in your company, so that the groupings take effect in the plants concerned when you use the application.
To simplify the assignment to plants, one grouping schema is defined as the standard, which is then called automatically for any plants that have not been assigned a grouping schema.
Requirements
The required units of measure must already have been created in the system.

Activities
Proceed as follows in this step:
- Define one or more grouping schema(s) depending on whether the requirements of the business process are the same or different in your plants.
Assign the required units of measure to each grouping schema.
- Flag a grouping schema as standard on the overview screen of the grouping schemas.
You must set this flag even if you only use one grouping schema.
- Assign the grouping schemas to your plants.
You do not need to make an entry for plants that are to use the standard grouping schema.
