In this step you can import previously exported site master data to the client currently in use.
The contents of the export file are processed on a line basis, whereby each record contains information on the associated database table in R/3 and the data itself.
If any lines cannot be assigned to a database table in the SAP system, the import is canceled.
The import program checks the table entries for foreign key dependencies (e.g. whether the company code exists in the target system) and domain values.
You can have existing site master data updated by the import.
Requirements
Your system is configured as an SAP Retail System.
You can only use the import program to import data from ASCII files previously exported using the export program of the SAP Retail site master.
Note that transports of site data between systems have been replaced by ALE distribution after SAP R/3 4.6C.
Further notes
Carry out the import in test mode first.
This results in a log being created, without any changes being made on the database. The log lists any missing foreign key dependencies.
In test mode, the log provides all the information you require as to why a full import of the data may not be possible.
Activities To import site master data from releases lower than SAP R/3 4.6C into releases after SAP R/3 4.6C, start transaction WBTI.
