Use
In this IMG activity you can define a fair share strategy for each material and supplying plant combination.
The fair share rule will be used in situations where the demand exceeds the distribution quantity. Therefore, it is only relevant for distribution strategies which use the demand information as a base for the distribution. For example, using the push distribution by quota strategy, it is not possible to run into a fair share situation because the distribution quantity will be distributed to the recipients according to the quotations without consideration of any demand information.
Using the fair share rule, you are able to quickly react to shortage situations and handle the distribution differently, for example, by distributing the available quantity only to the most important recipients.
The SAP Values are:
- PROPORTIONAL TO DEMANDS
The system will distribute the quantity proportionately to the existing demands. In case some pre-existing store or customer orders are used as demand information, the system will reduce the order quantities to the calculated fair share quantities.
- PROPORTIONAL TO QUOTA
The system will not consider the demands for the distribution. Instead, the quota arrangements which are maintained for the supplying plant/material/recipient combinations will be used as base for the distribution.
- CUSTOMER LOCATIONS
The system will first try to cover all demands from customer locations in case of a shortage. If all customer demands have been satisfied, the remaining quantity will be distributed to the stores proportional to their demands. If there is insufficient quantity available to cover all customer demands, the system will distribute the quantity only to the customer locations proportional to their demands.
You have the option of defining your own distribution strategies by implementing the FAIR_SHARE
method of the FIP_BADI_DISTR_STRAT
BAdI.
