Use
You use this Customizing activity to configure the Simplified Material Creation function.
Requirements
Standard settings
Activities
Configure the following settings:
- Group Box Definition
Define the group boxes for simplified material creation. Enter a group box number and a group header.
- Entry Screen Fields per Material Type
- For each material type, you define the fields for the dynamic Simplified Material Creation screen. The values that you enter for material types are displayed as possible entries on the Simplified Material Creation screen.
- You can define a layout for each material type. This allows you to configure the display to meet your processing requirements.
- Define a screen number and layout for each material type. The system uses this layout to generate the dynamic screen for the material creation. A sample layout is provided to which you can add new attributes for the material.
- Define the fields displayed in the maintenance process of material creation, and assign the group number and position for each field. Other attributes define whether the fields are mandatory or optional and hidden or visible. You can group fields and apply attributes to groups.
Note: You must choose Enter after entering the structure type to generate the relevant fields. If you use an existing material from the Material Search for Material Creation function, and the material type has not been defined in Customizing, the system uses the basic configuration as the default value.
- Reference Plant for Distribution Chain
Define a reference plant for a distribution chain consisting of a sales organization and a distribution channel. This reference plant is used as a template to create plant data for new and existing materials. Ensure that plant data has been entered for the specified material number and plant.
- Maintenance of Reference Materials
During simplified material creation, material information that is not provided by the search result is populated from the reference material, if the missing field value exists for the reference material. Reference materials can be assigned on the material type level, and optionally on the vendor and vendor material level. Reference materials are maintained in the Reference Material Maintenance function (transaction
WSD_REFMAT).
