Use
You use this Customizing activity to configure and activate the Enhanced Material Search with Material Creation transaction for defined applications.
- Material Search
These parameters define general settings for material searches, including default values displayed at the beginning of a search, as well as the data source for catalog searches and how material availability is displayed. - Material Creation
These parameters define how you create materials while: - searching or modifying materials
- searching catalogs
- creating a standard setting for the Material Category Creation feature, including the default value for material type
- Simplified Material Creation
These parameters define default settings for the Simplified Material Creation function, including the following details: - the material
- the purchasing info record
- the sales price
Requirements
You must configure the selected search engine before you can use it in the Enhanced Material Search function.
In a sales-based application such as application 01 - Sales Order, you must configure the sales price calculation before calculating sales prices using this function.
You must configure the selected material creation and material change methods before using this function.
Standard settings
Activities
Set the control parameters for the Enhanced Material Search with Material Creation function according to your business needs and system performance requirements. Set the activation flag and save your data.
Note: The system uses predefined subscreens to display the primary and secondary search parameters of the Enhanced Material Search screen. The contents of these subscreens are displayed according to the settings you have made in the Define Search and Display Parameters for Material Search Customizing activity. The resulting subscreen is saved in the system. To avoid repeated regeneration of subscreens with search parameters, you must enter different screen numbers for the primary and secondary search parameters for each application used. As these subscreens apply to the entire system, you must enter unique screen numbers in each client.
