Use
Virus scan profiles are used by application programs to perform a virus scan.
A virus scan profile specifies steps that are to be processed during the scan. A step can either be a virus scanner, which is found using the scanner group, or a step can specify another virus scan profile, which is then therefore performed as part of the enclosing virus scan profile.
You can activate or deactive virus scan profile individually to activate or deactivate the virus scan for individual components in the system.
You can use the option to use one virus scan profile as a "Reference Profile" for another virus scan profile to serve a number of applications using the same virus scan profile.
You can select a single virus scan profile as the "Default Profile". This is used if a virus scan profile with an initial name is requested.
Requirements
You have created scanner groups.
Standard settings
A virus scan profile is delivered for each SAP application that integrates a virus scan.
The name of this virus scan profile begins with a slash ("/"), followed by the name of the package of the application, followed by a name that describes the function.
The namespace X*, Y*, and Z* is available to you if you want to create your own virus scan profiles.
Activities
Check the virus scan profiles delivered by SAP, and determine the components for which you want to activate or deactivate the virus scan.
If you want to use the same virus scan profile to serve a number of applications, set the indicator "Use Reference" and specify the reference profile. If you leave the "Reference Profile" field empty, the default profile is used.
For the virus scan profiles that are to be executed, maintain the steps that are to be performed within the profiles. You can specify whether these steps are linked in such a way that all steps must be successful, or whether a single step is sufficient.
YOu can specify configuration parameters for each step. These parameters are transferred to the virus scanner when scanning is to be performed using this virus scan profile.
