Use
This business add-in (BAdI) is used in the Vehicle Management System (IS-A-VMS) component.
The VIN is usually case-sensitive.
You can use this BAdI to ensure that the VIN is saved in capital letters irrespective of whether it is entered in capital letters, in small letters or in a mixture of both. If the VIN is used as a search criterion, your entry is also converted to capital letters. This can be advantageous since the user no longer has to pay attention to capital and small letters when entering the VIN.
Note: if you want to implement the BAdI and have already saved VINs to the database, you have to trigger a report that converts these VINs to capital letters.
THis BAdI has method PREPARE_VHVIN with the sole parameter CHVIN (vehicle identification number VIN).
