Use
In this Customizing activity, you can define network attribute categories by entering an identifier with a maximum of 12 characters as well as a description. You can indicate whether this category and its attributes are linear assets by selecting the Linear Category checkbox. If you select this, the end point field is ready for input for the subordinate attributes. If this is not selected, the system assumes this category and its attributes are not linear and the end point field is not ready for input.
You can then define network attributes and then assign these attributes to the categories you defined. You can also define properties and assign them to the attributes.

Example
You want to create a network attribute category for your railways and define the category RAIL, which is linear.
You define network attributes such as left rail, right rail, and ties.
You can define properties for each of these attributes, such as the installation year, material, and thickness.
These properties have values that you can predefine in Customizing, such as the possible types of material your tracks or ties can have (such as steel, wood, and concrete).
