Use
In this Customizing activity, you enter the credentials that are required for authentication at the proxy server of your company network. The credentials include the URL of the proxy server, the user, and the password for each Visual Business application. The system uses these credentials as backup proxy settings for this application.
Normally, the system uses the default proxy settings provided by the operating system to access the proxy server. The settings you enter here are exactly the same as the operating system settings, but override them.

Activities
You execute the following steps to add a default proxy setting entry to the table:
- Choose the Insert Row icon to add a row to the table.
- In column Application choose the value help to select the required Visual Business application.
- In columns Proxy URL, User Name, and Password enter the credentials that are valid to access the proxy server of your company network.
- Choose the Transport icon to transport the settings to your system landscape. Note that for security reasons the password is not transported.
Example
SAP or a partner accesses your system remotely for support purposes. This access can temporarily deactivate the operating system proxy settings. The proxy settings entered in this Customizing activity ensure that the system can still call an external Web service or upload a map product from a map provider.
