Use
In this Customizing activity you define and assign GeoCoding Services, Map Products, Map Layer Stacks and Applications for Visual Business 2.0. Those settings are mandatory to operate Visual Business 2.0. The settings are client-independent and SAP and customer entries are separated by namespace reservations.
The lowest level of definitions are geo-coding services and map products. Possible geo-coding services are address search, route calculation, and reverse geo-coding (address for geo-location). Supported are REST-like geo-coding services, which are refered to by service URLs. With the service definition you also need to specify an ABAP class, implementing interface IF_VBC_GEOCODING_SERVICE, which is capable of parsing the service response. A map product is a technical description of a map service, which delivers a map in tiles (images). Typically a map product provides multiple levels of detail, where each level consists of multiple tiles. For each map product at least one service URL needs to be given. Multiple URLs can be provided for distributing the request among multiple servers.
The next definition level are map layer stacks. Each stack consists of at least one map product. Multiple map products can be assigned to one stack in a given order and opacity in order to combine them, for example, combine a satellite map with a road map as overlay.
Finally, the multiple map layer stacks can be assigned to an application. One of them needs to be defined as Default Stack. Further, the application holds definitions for the behavior and appearance of the navigation control and might refer to a geo-coding service definition.
Requirements
Standard settings
The SAP delivered settings can be used for Demo purposes. For a productive use geo-coding services and map products need to be licenced from the service provider.
Activities
You can define your own Visual Business application and assign it to the Visual Business WD Reuse-Component VBC_WDC_GEOMAP_GEN2 via component configuration.
