Use

In this Customizing activity, you can configure mapping from system-internal code values to code values on external code lists. The mapping is configured at field level.

We recommend using a global code list for inbound and outbound mappings to target systems if this is possible. You can implement global code lists in the following ways:

  • Use a global code list from an approved standards agency.
  • Define your own global code list within the system landscape.
  • Use the internal values of the hub as global values.

Requirements

  • You can only implement a global code list if you are using service communications and if the target systems that access the global code list support value mapping.

    SAP target systems in releases EHP4 and below and non-SAP target systems only support value mapping with the help of Process Integration (PI) tools or other middleware tools.

  • You must implement a system-specific code list for each target system that uses ALE communication or that does not support value mapping.

We deliver a list of fields that support value mapping. You can add your own fields.
