Use

In this Customizing activity, you can determine how the system is to behave if serial numbers exist in MES-relevant production orders.

Requirements

You have set up the distribution of production orders to an MES.

You have created serial number profiles and entered them in the material master.

Standard settings

Standard system behavior regarding the assignment of serial numbers in production orders is as follows:

• You cannot delete any serial numbers from distributed production orders.
• You cannot assign distributed serial numbers to another distribution-relevant production order.
• You can save a distributed production order even if the number of serial numbers assigned exceeds the production quantity.

Activities

Use this activity if you want to have certain checks carried out for a combination of plant and serial number profile in deviation from standard behavior. You can use the placeholder (wildcard) '*' if the setting is to apply to all plants or serial number profiles.

If you wish to retain the standard system behavior, you need not enter any values in the table.
