Activate Manual Creation of Service Request

Use

Service requests improve the communication between people working with applications and agents in a Shared Services Center supporting their work. Therefore, tight integration of service requests into the user interface of the workplace is essential. You can use this step to activate the manual creation of service requests in an activity.

After activation, you find an easy way to create or display service requests from the activity you are currently executing. This can be a button on the screen, and in SAP GUI this can be the entry Service Request in the Help menu or a link in the error message status line (seeDefine Service Request Creation on Message Level).

If the application is SAP GUI based, you can also activate the screenshot feature. During manual creation of a service request, you then get a security warning to allow the system to take a screenshot from the current transaction. This screenshot is later available as an attachment in the service request to give the agent in the Shared Services Center better analysis capabilites.

Requirements

The activities delivered are already enabled for manual service request creation and can be activated directly. You can also enable your own activities (for example, custom SAP GUI transactions or other user interfaces) by defining the respective applications, application areas, and activities (including appropriate implementation for the integration).
