Use
This IMG activity includes both assignment of an attribute model to the individual attributes and valuation of an individual attribute with regard to meta-information (also referred to as attribute descriptions).
You can use either an attribute model that you created previously in IMG activity "Create/Change Model-Element Type Assignments" or one that you have just created in this activity (you should then assign element types later).
Note: If tables and structures have been assigned to the attribute model in IMG activity "Register/Change Tables/Structures for Default Attribute Memory", the attribute descriptions will be pre-assigned for all attributes of this attribute model. However, these pre-assignments should be checked manually, as not all meta-information can be derived from the DDIC information.
A single attribute is made up of many items of meta-information. The following section only provides information only on meta-attributes that require some further explanation...
+ Basic attribute description: Alias ID: This meta-attribute only needs to be valuated if the attribute is to be used in the cross-element type search. For the cross-element type search, attribute model SRM_CROSS_QUERY is used, for example. While cross-element type search is running, "mapping" is carried out between the Alias IDs from the attribute model SRM_CROSS_QUERY and the Alias IDs from the corresponding element type-specific attribute models.
+ Basic attribute description: Can be maintained once: This meta-attribute determines that the attribute can be valuated just once in the maintenance dialog (when it is being created).
+ Basic attribute description: Input help: This meta-attribute determines whether or not input help (DDIC or programmed) can be provided. If it is noted during runtime that no input help is provided despite selection, the user is notified of this.
+ Basic attribute description: Input check: This meta-attribute determines whether or not an input check (DDIC or programmed) can be provided. If it is noted during runtime that no input check is provided despite selection, the user is notified of this.
+ Basic attribute description: Value generation: This meta-attribute determines whether or not input generation (DDIC or programmed) can be provided. If it is noted during runtime that no value generation is provided despite selection, the user is notified of this.
+ Basic attribute description: Visible: This meta-attribute determines whether or not an attribute is visible in the display/maintenance dialog. Depending on the entry in the checkbox, an entry is required in the Customizing activity "Display/Maintenance: Visualization Description".
+ Basic attribute description: Visible in list: This meta-attribute determines whether or not an attribute is visible in a list display (such as a hit list from a search). Depending on the entry in the checkbox, an entry is required in the Customizing activity "Display in List: Visualization Description".
+ Basic attribute description: Searchable: This meta-attribute determines whether or not an attribute is visible in the search dialog. Depending on the entry in the checkbox, an entry is required in the Customizing activity "Search: Visualization Description".
+ Display/Maintenance: Visualization description: Row number: Assign each row number once only and choose a value greater than 1.
+ Display/Maintenance: Visualization description: Column number: At present, the standard visualization only supports values 1 and 2.
+ Display/Maintenance: Visualization description: Field type: At present, the standard visualization only supports the values "Normal" field and dropdown.
+ Display/Maintenance: Visualization description: Editable: This meta-attribute determines whether it should be possible to enter data in the field or whether a valuation should only be possible using input help or value generation.
+ Search: Visualization description: Row number: Assign each row number once only and choose a value greater than 1.
+ Search: Visualization description: Column number: At present, the standard visualization only supports values 1 and 2.
+ Search: Visualization description: Field type: At present, the standard visualization only supports the values "Normal" field and dropdown.
+ Display in list: Visualization description: Column number: Assign each column number once only and choose a value greater than 1.
