Activities

Define queues

The fields "warehouse number" and "queue" are mandatory and serve to uniquely identify a queue.

The "queue name" refers to the language-dependent description.

The two "relation" fields define the threshold value for the ratio between the workload and the users of a queue. The queue traffic light changes its colour from green to yellow (left field) or from yellow to red (right field).

If, for example, six transfer orders (TOs) are to be processed by three users, the relation is 2.0.

  • The queue tranffic light is green if the relation is less than the value given in the left relation field.
  • The queue traffic light is yellow if the relation is greater than or the same as the value specified in the right field.
  • The queue traffic light is red if the relation is greater than or the same as the value specified in the left relation field.

Assign areas and activities to queues

The "warehouse number" defines a warehouse number assigned to a queue.

In the field "screen", you can define whether you wish to create transfer orders through a particular preparation screen. In this way, you define whether you have a putaway transfer order (preparation screen for putaway), a pick transfer order (preparation screen for picking), or a stock-transfer transfer order (single item screen).

With the "transfer type", you can determine the type of goods movement for the assignment.

The following four fields, with the alternating descriptions "storage type" and "picking area", are to be regarded as pairs. The first two fields specify the source storage type and the source picking area. They are also relevant for pick TOs and TOs for stock transfers. The two last fields specify the destination storage type and the destination picking area. They are relevant for putaway TOs and TOs for stock transfers.

The field "Door" defines the goods receipt door for putaway TOs, and the goods issue door for pick TOs (has no relevance for stock transfers).

"Storage type", "picking area", and "door" cam be masked with wildcards ('***').

Using the field "Queue", you can define the queue to which you wish to assign transfer orders that match the criteria for the area and for the activity.

Assign users to queues

The "warehouse number" defines a warehouse number assigned to a queue.

The "user" refers to the assigned user who is specified with the logon name given in the system.

The "queue" defines the queue to which the user is assigned in initial status.

The "status" defines whether the user is available for monitoring through the RF monitor.
