Use

In this IMG activity you can configure document templates for use of Microsoft Word or Lotus WordPro in the Claims Management system. This configuration is dependent on an internal claim type.

In claims processing, you can call Office integration on the Documents screen. On the next dialog screen you can then select a document template, a recipient, and a recipient address.

The document templates that are then available on this dialog screen in the input help are those that you configure in this IMG activity. In the document template you define which data should be transferred automatically to the document as variables, for example.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

Make the following settings for a document template:

Templates level

  • Specify the business object category for the template.

The following business object categories are relevant for the Claims Management system:

    • CLAIM for claim
    • CLAIMSUBOB for claim subobject
    • SUBCLAIM for subclaim
  • Specify the object key for the template.

This object key defines the name of a template container that is used to store document templates in the Business Document Service (BDS). This name is freely assignable.

  • Enter the name of the transfer structure for the template.

The transfer structure contains all data fields of the application that you can use as variables in the document template of the Office application.

    Examples of such data fields:

    • First and last name of a business partner
    • Number of the claim
    • Date on which the loss/claim occurred
    • Status of the claim

You can use ICL_CORR_OI_DATA as a transfer structure. You can use an Append structure to include own fields in this transfer structure.

  • Enter the access module that fills the data fields of the transfer structure with application data.

As an example you can use function module ICL_CORR_OI_DATA_GET.

If you have included own fields in the transfer structure, we recommend the following procedure:

    1. Copy function module ICL_CORR_OI_DATA_GET.

    2. Enhance the code of the function module according to the additional fields.

    3. Enter this new function module in this field instead of ICL_CORR_OI_DATA_GET.

Note on the following three settings: These buttons are only available in the detail view of the Templates level.

  • You can navigate from the Templates level to the configured document template. To do so, choose @0Z@ Document Templates. This takes you to the Business Document Navigator. You can edit the document template there.
  • You can navigate from the Templates level to the stored transfer structure and view the possible data fields. To do so, choose @10@Supported Data Fields. The system displays the transfer structure in display mode. You can switch to change mode.
  • You can navigate from the Templates level to the stored access module. To do so, choose @10@Access Module. The system displays the access module in display mode. You can switch to change mode.

Template Attributes level

  • Assign a document type to the document template.
  • Specify the start and end date of the validity of the document template. You can permit conversions from old templates to new templates, for example.

Field Name for Template level

  • Here you define the fields from the transfer structure that should be filled as variables in this document template.
  • Per field, specify whether the performer in claims processing may change the field contents or not.
