During the AM/MM transfers in Joint Venture Accounting, new asset subnumbers may be created. These transactions may create up to two new subnumbers, one 'old' asset for the transfer part - the operators share. This share will remain with the operator and in the original vintage year. In addition, an additional asset subnumber is required for the new acquisition part of the asset. This subnumber will only retain a value after cutback, if there was an increase in the operator's share. Normally, these subnumbers would be created with field values from the according main number. For the JV asset transfers, this would be the main number of the receiving asset.
Here you can specify, which fields have to be taken from the sending asset record for the 'old' and the 'new' asset. This will be fields like
- Vintage year and month
- Date of the acquisition
- Depreciation begin date
but can be any other asset master record field as well.
Fields may as well be cleared on the new record, i.e. the acquisition date on the new asset. This will then be set by the acquistion posting to the current date.
Entries without a Depreciation Area are for area-independent fields, for the depreciation area dependent fields entries may (or have to) be made for each single depreciation area.
