The following SAP enhancement is available for unit costing:
- KKEK0001 User-Defined Item Category Y in Unit Costing
This enhancement allows you to use data in unit costing (such as materials in a non-SAP system or information from purchasing) that cannot be handled with the existing item categories (such as internal activities, materials, or services).
This enhancement contains the following components:
- EXIT_SAPLKKEC_001
This enhancement activates item category Y in unit costing.
- EXIT_SAPLKKEC_002
This enhancement processes the data that you selected with item category Y.

Either create a new project or use an existing project.
- Activate the project
Your enhancement does not take effect until the project is activated.

Unlike modifications, enhancements are always upgrade-compatible because they are implemented in a name range reserved for the customer rather than in the SAP original.
