This IMG activity enables you to set up an employee's address.

An employee's address can only be set up as a fixed layout item.

The procedure for setting up an address differs from the procedure for filling in the Field field described in the IMG activity "Set up data as fixed layout items". The following values can be used for addresses in this field:

  • ADRS-LINE0
  • ADRS-LINE1
  • ADRS-LINE2
  • ADRS-LINE3
  • ADRS-LINE4
  • ADRS-LINE5
  • ADRS-LINE6
  • ADRS-LINE7
  • ADRS-LINE8
  • ADRS-LINE9
  • ADRS-LINEK

Each of these values represents an undefined address line rather than a particular piece of data. In order to print a full address, further entries must be made. The entry for the first address line must have the value "ADRS-LINE0" in the Field field, the second must be "ADRS-LINE1" and so on. The values for the individual lines must always begin with "LINE0", be sequential and assigned without gaps.

The number of entries for an address depends on how many address lines are to be printed on a remuneration statement. You can define up to 10 lines. If you only need one address line you should use the value "ADRS-LINEK".

When creating a remuneration statement, the SAP system uses an internal program for address formatting which formats an address to suit the requirements of a particular country according to the address lines defined.

The scope of address formatting depends on the number of address lines defined. If only a few or one address line has been defined, the system prints only the basic elements of an address such as name, street or PO box and city. Data may also be deleted if necessary. If a large number of address lines has been defined you can also print additional address data such as form of address and title. It is also possible to make the printout more readable, for example by adding blank lines.

The following applies to the number of address lines to be used:

In German-speaking countries (D, CH, A) 5 to 6 address lines should generally be set up.

EXAMPLE

Example 1:

You want to set up three address lines in lines 15 to 17, each starting at column 11, for form "ZF01". The address is only to be printed on the first page of a remuneration statement. To achieve this you must make the following entries:

PType    No    Offs    Lngth    WType    Field        Conv    Rule    Field offset

FP    15    011    40        ADRS-LINE0

FP    16    011    40        ADRS-LINE1

FP    17    011    40        ADRS-LINE2

Three address lines are defined using the values "ADRS-LINE0", "ADRS-LINE1" and "ADRS-LINE2". The output length selected for these address lines is 40.

In this case the address could be printed as follows depending on the country in question:

<Name>

<Street> or <Flat no.>

<Country indicator> <Postal code> <City>

Example 2:

You want to set up five address lines in lines 13 to 17, each starting at column 11, for form "ZF01". The address is only to be printed on the first page of a remuneration statement. To do this you must create the following entries:

PType    No    Offs    Lngth    WType    Field        Conv    Rule    Field offset

FP    13    011    40        ADRS-LINE0

FP    14    011    40        ADRS-LINE1

FP    15    011    40        ADRS-LINE2

FP    16    011    40        ADRS-LINE3

FP    17    011    40        ADRS-LINE4

Five address lines are defined using the values ADRS-LINE0 to ADRS-LINE5.

In this case the address could be printed as follows depending on the country in question:

<Form of address>

<Name>

<Street> or <Flat no.>

Blank line

<Country indicator> <Postal code> <City>
