Use

In this activity, you define Execution Group Objects (EGOs). The EGOs may be static or dynamic:

  1. Static - An EGO whereby the allowed quantity of the constraint object is fixed and does not change over time. For example, you create a static EGO connected to a zone when you limit the numbers of resource types that can be subscribed to it at the same time. Since the zone has a fixed capacity which does not change over time, the allowed quantities of resource types within the zone do not change either.
  2. Dynamic - An EGO whereby the allowed quantities of the constraint object changes over time. For example, you create a dynamic EGO connected to a zone when you select tasks as the constraint type. In such a case, the system compares the number of tasks involving the EGO object, with the number of tasks subscribed to resources. This EGO is usually used for Semi-System-Guided mode, where resources are sent by the system to a specific zone without any actual task assignment. The dynamic EGO estimates the resource selection based on its capacity and available tasks within the zone, and subscribes the resource accordingly. Since the number of tasks (which basically determines the capacity) within the zone changes dynamically, it is considered to be a dynamic EGO.

Activities

  1. Select the site for which you want to define the EGO.
  2. Enter a number representing the EGO ID.
  3. Enter the required EGO object, which is based on your selection of the EGO's control type.
  4. Select the EGO's control type.
  5. Select the type of constraint by which you would like to constrain the EGO.
  6. Enter a description for the EGO.
  7. Enter the name of the service to handle the subscription and unsubscription of resources vis-a-vis the EGO (mandatory). Either enter the SAP function LTRM_EGO_SUBSCRIPTION_SERVICE or enter your own function. If you define your own function, ensure that it uses the same interface as LTRM_EGO_SUBSCRIPTION_SERVICE
