Use

In this IMG activity, you can define additional object classes for the monitor and alert monitor.

Example

Requirements

Standard settings

Object classes are provided with the standard system.

Recommendation

You should not define data dictionary structures for child object classes.

Activities

For each new object class that you define, do the following:

  1. Enter a unique, three-digit object class number. For the below applications, ensure that the number falls within the following values:
    • Task and Resource Management: 1-299 (Log monitor: 200-299)
    • Yard Management: 300-399
    • Value-Added Services: 400-499
    • Cross-Docking: 500-599
  2. Enter short text to describe the object class.
  3. If you want the object class to inherit object class methods and attributes from a parent object class, enter the object number in the Parent Cl. field. If you do this, you need not define object class methods and attributes in the following IMG activities:
    • Define Object Class Methods
    • Define Object Class Attributes
  4. In the Service field, enter the name of the service called when the object class is opened.
  5. Select an object class type to determine whether the object class is included in the monitor or the alert monitor.
  6. In the ALV Structure field, enter the name of the structure to be displayed in the ALV for the object class.
  7. Enter codes (found in the second column of the List of Icons - program RLMON_ICONS_DISPLAY) to represent the following:
    1. A closed object class in the monitor hierarchy tree
    2. An open object class in the monitor hierarchy tree
    3. An object belonging to the object class in the monitor hierarchy tree
  8. TRM only: In the Repository ID field, you can enter the ID of the HTML template in the SAP Web Repository (transaction SMW0) that will correspond to the template displayed when the Display details monitor method is invoked for the objects of the class. If this field is left blank, an ALV dialog box will be displayed instead.
  9. If you want a tab for the object class to be displayed in the monitor selection screen, select Sel. Screen (not relevant for TRM).
  10. If you want the fields of a particular structure to appear as selection criteria on the object class' tab of the monitor selection screen, enter the structure name in the Sel. Scr. Structure field (not relevant for TRM). If you leave this field blank, the system uses the ALV structure as determined in step 6 above.
  11. In the Screen Title field, enter words that you want to appear at the top of the monitor selection screen, as well as the main monitor screen (not relevant for TRM).
