Use
In this IMG activity, you determine the functionality of yard locations according to the day of the week and time of the day.
When a location is to be scheduled for a vehicle, the system only allows the scheduling of possible locations. This is determined by:
- The time-related functionality of locations as defined in this IMG activity; and
- The general functionality of locations as defined in the yard map IMG activities (in which doors, staging areas and yard locations have been defined)
Requirements
You have defined locations in the following IMG activities:
Standard settings
Recommendation
We recommend that you define the functionality of locations in the yard map IMG activities and define only the exceptions in this IMG activity. For instance, if a door generally operates as an inbound door except between 14:00 and 15:00 on a Tuesday (when it operates as an outbound door), define the door as an inbound door in IMG activity Define Doors, and define it as being outbound between 14:00 and 15:00 on a Tuesday in this IMG activity.
Activities
For each of the locations for which you want to determine the functionality:
- Enter the yard number.
- Choose the location class and enter the location's name.
- Choose the day of the week and/or start and end times, for which the location's functionality will be determined.
- If you want the location to be relevant for the inbound process, select Inbound.
- If you want the location to be relevant for the outbound process, select Outbound.
- If you want the location to be relevant for both inbound and outbound processes, select Inbound and Outbound.
Example
When a location is to be scheduled between the hours of 10:00 and 13:00 for a vehicle assigned to an inbound document, the system schedules only an "inbound" location. The inbound locations are those that are defined as being inbound:
- Between 10:00 and 13:00 in this IMG activity; and
- In the yard map IMG activities, if not defined as being outbound in this IMG activity
