Use

In this IMG activity, you can:

  • Create, delete, or disable attributes
  • Determine the sequence in which the attributes are displayed next to the relevant object classes
  • Determine how to present the attributes

Requirements

You have already defined object classes in IMG activity Define Object Classes.

Standard settings

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Choose Attribute Catalog.
  2. To enter attributes for an object class, enter the following:
    1. Object class number
    2. Identifer for each attribute
    3. Short text to describe the attribute
    4. Relevant structure field of the object class for each attribute
  3. Go back and choose Attributes to be Presented.
  4. Do the following for each of the attributes:
    1. Enter the site number in the Site field (TRM) or choose User defined from the Profile field drop-down list (other applications).
    2. Enter the number of the object class to which the attribute relates.
    3. Enter a number representing the sequence in which the attribute will appear next to the object in the hierachy tree.
    4. Enter the attribute identifier defined in step 2b) above.
    5. If you want to disable the attribute so that it will not appear in the monitor, select Disable.
  5. To create different attribute icons/text for different values of the attribute:
    1. Select the line corresponding to the attribute.
    2. Double-click Attribute Value Mapping.
    3. Enter the possible values of the attribute (found in the value range of the relevant structure field's domain).
    4. For each value, enter an icon and text by which the attribute will be represented.
    5. Choose Enter. The input data disappears. You can view the icon by switching to display mode.

Example

In TRM, you define the attribute Blocked for the Resource object class (field BLCKD in the Resource structure LTRSM_LRSRCX). You then define icons and texts, to appear alongside resource objects in the hierarchy tree, for the different domain values of this attribute - yes (blocked) and no (not blocked).
