Activate Cross-System Lock (CSL)
In this activity, you can set up the cross-system lock for several logical systems. You can enter the CSL mode for each logical system and so specifiy whether the CSL is deactivated or activated with or without reference tracking. If the entry for the CSL is empty, then the CSL is not active. You must set the same CSL mode for each of the logical systems affected.
Reference tracking is required if you want the CSL to be effective across LUWs. In this case, the system does not release the lock automatically when a LUW is completed. Instead, the system gives another user a credit using the reference counter. The user can use this credit to access the locked object. As soon as the credit is used by the last user, the system releases the lock.
Note:
You can only make subsequent changes to deliveries in the decentralized Warehouse Management System or in the central ERP system if the CSL is active with reference tracking. This is the only possible way of preventing inconsistencies between the local ERP system and the decentralized WMS.
