Use
In this IMG activity you define the relevant attributes for benefit types in the expenses category in claims processing.
Difference from Customizing of the Scenario Claim with Product Customizing
In the Claim Without Product Customizing scenario, no product data is maintained for the benefit types, just process data that refers to claims processing. All product data, such as limits and deductibles, sums insured, and calculation rules, is imported from the policy system. Benefit type trees are not required for these benefit types.
Versioning
In contrast to the Claim with Product Customizing scenario, the process data for the benefit types only has one-dimensional versioning. You can change the validity and the data of a version at any time.
To create a new version, enter a valid-from timepoint. Any version that is already valid for this timepoint is ended implicitly.
Individual settings
Make the following settings for a benefit type:
- Level Expenses Types: Definition
Enter a key and a name for the benefit type.
- Level Definition of time-dependency
Enter the time-related validity (date and time) as from when the assigned expenses benefit types should be valid. Consider that the time validity of each individual benefit type is not defined here, rather that benefit types are assigned to a "Valid-From" time point.
Note: All the following settings are time-dependent.
- Level Expenses Types: Time-Dependent Attributes
- Specify whether an expectation reserve is involved with this benefit type and assigned reserve type.
- Specify whether subrogation/recovery is possible for this benefit type.
- Specify whether a claim item can be assigned directly to this benefit time. For more information, see Selectability for Claim Items.
- Specify whether this benefit type can be selected with a direct payment (in other words, a payment without claim items) or with an advance payment.
- Assign a reserve type to the benefit type.
- Here you can only assign reserve types that have been defined in IMG activity Define Reserve Types.
- Assign a Transaction Type for the Procurement Process to the benefit type.
- Here you can only assign transaction types that have been defined in IMG activity Define Transaction Types for Procurement Process.
- Specify the level of higher-level benefit type.
- Level Permitted Payment Reason Groups
Create the permitted payment reason group and the relevant permitted payment reason for each benefit type. This is done dependent on the country/state and region.
You can only define payment reason groups and payment reasons that have been defined in IMG activity Define Payment Reasons.
