Use
In this IMG activity you can specify one or several tolerance keys for each tolerance group.
You can use tolerance groups to control user authorization when ordering a claim item, for each insurance line of business. The basis for this control is formed by the deviation (tolerance interval), expressed absolutely or as a percentage, of the purchase price from the price that is determined by the claims handler using the leading evaluation system.
For example, if you define a tolerance key of USD 20 for a tolerance group, all claim handlers that are assigned to this tolerance group can only issue an order if the difference between the purchase price and the price, according to the evaluation system, is a maximum of USD 20.
You define the leading evaluation system in the Configure Benefit Type Trees IMG activity on the Benefit Type Tree: Permitted Object Type level, in the Evaluator Type field.
No tolerance checks are executed if one of the following conditions is in effect:
- The claim handler is not assigned to a tolerance group.
- No leading evaluation system is available.
SAP delivers exactly one tolerance key for the absolute and percentage deviations of a claim item that is to be procured. This is: Amount per Claim Item: Deviation from Estimation System Amount. You can now specify the absolute and the percentage deviation for this tolerance key.
You do this as follows:
- Select the relevant tolerance group
- Choose New Entries.
- In the Tolerance Key field, select the entry Amount per claim item: Deviation from evaluation system amount.
- Make the required settings for the absolute and percentage deviation.
If at least one tolerance condition is fulfilled in the determination of permitted deviations (in other words, the amount is within the tolerance intervals defined by the absolute or percentage limits), then the system permits the deviation. This means that the user can issue an order for the claim item.
If the deviation is not within all relevant tolerance intervals, the status of the claim item is set to To Be Approved. In this case, procurement of this claim item must be approved by a clerk / claim handler with sufficient tolerance intervals. The claim item cannot be ordered until this approval is given.
