Use
In this IMG activity you define reasons for overruling coverage referrals.
In IMG activity Define Coverage Referrals you assign the reasons defined here for overruling coverage referrals to an actual coverage referral.
If you want to overrule a coverage referral during claims processing, you must enter a reason for doing so.
The options available to you are as follows:
- You can select one of the reasons in the F4 input help that you assigned to the relevant coverage referral
- You can enter a text of your own choice as the reason

Example
In an automobile claim in which the amount of the loss is low, the system has generated a coverage referral because the policyholder breached his/her obligations. This claim is therefore not compensable. However, the policyholder is a VIP customer. For this reason, the claim handler wants to pay out the loss amount. The claim handler overrules the coverage referral manually, and enters VIP customer as the reason.
