Use

In this IMG activity you define the possible severities for each damage category.

In IMG activity Configure Internal Claim Types, at the Damaged Objects level, you define which of the damage severities defined here are permitted for the relevant internal claim type.

The severity is used to document a loss, among other things. You can also define rules pertaining to severity for the following in the Business Rule Framework (BRF):

  • Claim control
  • Statistical reserving

Requirements

If you want to use damage categories that are not delivered as standard by SAP, you must have created them in IMG activity Enhance Damage Categories.

Activities

Example

For the damage category of vehicle:

  • Not damaged
  • Trivial damage
  • Damage to bodywork
  • Partial loss
  • Total loss

For example, in the BRF you can define a rule that claims with a total loss severity are only assigned to certain claim handlers.
