Use
In this IMG activity you can create additional evaluation categories to those prescribed by SAP. You can use evaluation categories to break down in greater detail how the evaluated amount of the claim item is determined.
In IMG activity Configure Benefit Type Trees, at the Benefit Type Tree: Permitted Object Type level, you assign the evaluation categories defined here to an object type, depending on the benefit type.
Requirements
Standard settings
This table contains entries that are used by the programs in the Claims Management component. Changing or deleting entries supplied by SAP constitutes a modification to the program. Such modifications are generally not necessary and should be avoided, as they can lead to errors.
You can create new entries in the customer namespace (identifier begins with "Y" or "Z"). These usually only have an effect on the component if you program using these values in the corresponding extensions of the program.
Activities
Example
- Evaluation category actual cash value
Five years ago the claim item (child's bicycle, for example) had a value of USD 100. On the basis of the actual cash value, the claim item is now only worth 30% of the original figure, in other words USD 30. The evaluated amount was determined using the actual cash value evaluation category (30% in this case).
- Evaluation category day rate:
In the event of a claim, the policyholder is entitled to a rental car for five days. The day rate for the rental car is USD 50. The evaluated amount for the rental car claim item is thus five times USD 50, equals USD 250. The evaluated amount was determined using the day rate evaluation category (USD 50 in this case).
