Use
In this IMG activity you define the insurance lines of business available in the Claims Management system.
Make the following settings for each insurance line of business:
- Key of insurance line of business
- Name of insurance line of business
- If you do not want a particular insurance line to be available in the application, set the Suppress LOB indicator. The insurance line is then not displayed in the application in the input help.
- Assign a policy product as a standard policy product to the insurance line of business.
Using this standard policy product you can create a claim for the insurance line of business, without having to know the contract. You do not need to state the contract until you want to finally settle the claim.
Example:
Define the insurance line of business Auto Insurance and assign the policy product K2000 (Auto Private) as the standard policy product to this insurance line of business.
When you create a claim and enter the insurance line of business first (Auto Insurance in our case), the system automatically takes the standard policy product that has been defined (K2000 in our case).
You need insurance lines of business for the following:
- Configuration of policy products:
In IMG activity Configure Policy Product you assign each policy product to exactly one insurance line of business. This means that policy products are grouped by the insurance line of business.
- Configuration of tolerance groups:
When you define permitted combinations of insurance lines of business, user name, and user group for the procurement process (IMG path: Claims Management -> Claim -> Business Settings -> External Services Integration -> Tolerance for Procurement -> Assign User to Tolerance Group)
- In the Business Rule Framework (BRF):
Here you define rules and actions for a certain line of insurance, and not cross-line.
