Use
In this IMG activity you can define expressions for the Business Rule Framework (BRF).
You can use expressions in the BRF to
- Procure data and make this available to the BRF
- Define operations based on this data
On the basis of a freely definable regulation (such as a calculation rule), the following data is processed in an expression:
- Data of the application (such as data on the current claim in the Claims Management system)
- Data of the objects related to the application (in the Claims Management system, this is data of an object related to the current claim, such as data on a business partner)
Once the system has processed the data, the expression yields a result of any primitive character (Boolean, integer, character, for example). Rules use Boolean expression: If the Boolean expression returns the value TRUE, an action is executed; if the value FALSE is returned, no action is executed.
You can also nest expressions, in other words expressions can access results of other expressions.
The Claims Management system provides the following expression types:
- Function module
- Simple value request (field of a structure)
- Field of a line of an internal table
- Constant
- Three-operand arithmetic
- Simple, single-line formula editor/interpreter
- Predicate
- Control predicate
- Simple operations
- Truth table
