Use
In this IMG activity you assign the appropriate backward link type to a forward link type.
Example:
The relationship between forward and backward direction link types is illustrated using an example from the area of health insurance. The example is that of a delivery (parturition), with a "mother claim" and a "child claim":
In this activity you assign the backward link type "child claim" to the link type "mother claim" (this means that the mother claim is the source claim and the child claim is the target claim). In the application you can therefore create a link to the child claim from the mother claim. You enter Mother Claim as the link type. In the child claim, the system now automatically creates a link to the mother claim. The system automatically enters Child Claim as the link type.
This means that you can only create this link from the mother claim, not from the child claim. The link is displayed in the target claim, and you can also change the link here. You cannot create a link to the mother claim from here.
If you want to be able to create a link to the mother claim from the child claim too, you must create an additional entry in this IMG activity, in which the child claim is the source claim and the mother claim is the target claim. In this case, the forward link type would be the child claim, and the backward link type would be the mother claim.
If you store both entries in Customizing, you can create a link to the child claim from the mother claim and vice-versa.
Note:
In the input help in the source claim the system displays all link types that are permitted for the internal claim type of the source claim (see IMG activity Assign Link Types to an Internal Claim Type. If you specify a link type for the link that is not permitted for the internal claim type of the target claim, you cannot create the link. The system displays a corresponding error message.
Requirements
In IMG activity Define Link Types you have defined both the forward link type and the associated backward link type.
Standard settings
Activities
Assign the associated backward link type to a forward link type.
Check whether it ought to be possible to create the link from the reverse direction as well. If this is the case, create a corresponding entry. We recommend that you allow the link in both directions. See the following example:
Link Type Name of Link Type Link Type Reverse Direction Name of Link Type Reverse Direction
0009 Mother Claim 0010 Child Claim
0010 Child Claim 0009 Mother Claim
