In this process step, you copy the SAP standard process instruction characteristics and process message characteristics for material identification from the SAP reference client to the logon client.

You require these characteristics

  • For the message categories defined by SAP
  • To define your own message and process instruction categories

The names of the characteristics predefined by SAP begin with PPPI_.

You cannot change these characteristics in the logon client.

Activities

Transport the standard characteristics from the SAP reference

client (000) to the logon client.

Further notes

  • Characteristics are created at client level. After you have carried out this process step, the standard characteristics are available in all plants of your client.
  • When you copy the SAP standard characteristics, a warning appears telling you that it is data of type "A". Ignore this warning.

Note about transport

Characteristics cannot be transported. You must therefore also carry out this process step in your production system before you transport the other settings for process management from your Customizing system to the production system.
