In this section, you define the currency translation methods for your asset reports. You can specify these translation methods when starting the report. The system then determines the asset values for the report according to the defined method and in the corresponding currency.

Note

Certain parameters are available for the definition of a translation method (see below). If these parameters are insufficient, you can program individual translation methods by using a user modification. See the SAP library FI-AA: "Individual User Modification (Customer Exits)".

Default Settings

SAP delivers the following translation methods:

  • Historical conversion at the capitalization date
  • Key date translation

Actions

Define your translation methods. The following parameters are available:

  • Target currency
  • Type of rate (for example, bank buying rate, bank selling rate or average exchange rate)
  • Date of currency translation

    You have the following alternatives for the date of currency translation:

    • the date of capitalization
    • a date that can be defined without restrictions in the translation method
    • individual translation using a user modification
