With the local currency changeover the system cannot convert the currency key derived in the translation types and transfer rules as it cannot recognize the currency type. The system does not recognize whether it is dealing with a local currency key or a transaction currency that is not to be converted, for example.
In the transfer rules an automatic decision cannot be made as to whether the source currency (for example, a file to be imported) is still in DEMs or whether the data should be transferred in Euro in the future. With the changeover to the Euro many conversions, such as FRFs to DEMs, can be omitted. Therefore, after the local currency changeover has taken place, you must clean up the currency translation manually in the transfer rules.
Cleanups also have to be carried out in reporting. Where necessary you must revise certain number displays and exceptions in your reports. If you leave exceptions in DEMs, for example, a currency translation to the Euro takes place in the report. This can sometimes have a negative influence on performance times. If you wish to avoid currency translations for checking the exceptions then you must adjust the exceptions manually.
With the changeover to the Euro, currency translations in the report such as FRFs to DEMs can be superfluous. Therefore, after the local currency changeover has taken place you must clean up the currency manually in the reports.
