Example
Currencies in the customer master can be interactively changed over to a new currency, for example, domestic currencies can be changed over to the euro as defined by European Monetary Union.
Activities
Currencies in the customer master can be changed over in one of the following ways:
- Individually
- Collectively (mass changeover)
In both cases, you can change over the currency either immediately or schedule it.
- Immediate changeover
A currency can be changed over for one or more customers. For example, you can change over the currency for all the customers in a particular sales area. You do this from the Sales Master Data screen by choosing Others -> Currency conversion -> Customer master (transaction VDDI). Here you can deactivate the creation of currency changeover change documents and also simulate currency changeover for test purposes.
You access the Euro Workbench screen from the Sales Master Data screen by choosing Others -> Currency conversion -> Euro Workbench. In the Euro Workbench, currencies in the customer master can also be changed over immediately for one or more customers. You do this from the Euro Workbench screen by choosing Goto -> Mass conversions -> Customers.
- Scheduled changeover
In the Euro Workbench, currencies in the customer master can be changed over for one or more customers according to schedule.
Scheduling allows you to change over currencies periodically, for example, at the start of every month, in background mode.
