The following three standard functions have been modified to enable you to change the currency in conditions:

  • Condition index
  • Create conditions with reference
  • Pricing report

The pricing report function can be used to plan and monitor your currency conversion. You can create your own pricing reports with your required selection criteria (for example, currency) in Customizing.

The "Condition index" and "Create conditions with reference" functions are for changing data.

New conditions are created for currency conversion. You can then have the system propose the validity end for the existing conditions.

Purpose and Procedures

Condition index

Choose the condition index to change collective data (for example, all the conditions for a sales organization).

  1. Conditions -> Select using index -> Create conditions
  2. Choose Material/Sales Org./Distrib. Channel, for example.
  3. Enter a sales organization, choose Keep end of validity period (this function is new for currency conversion and prevents the system using the proposal in Customizing), and start the selection.
  4. Select the conditions that you want to change.
  5. Choose Edit -> Currency change
  6. Define the individual change options:
    • Target currency with exchange rate type and date
    • Carry out conversion for additional conditions and conditions with deletion indicator
    • Condition scale base value with rounding rule
    • Maximum condition value with rounding rule
    • Condition rate with rounding rule

      You receive a log with the changes that have been implemented. The log contains an overview of the old and new conditions. If an error occurs (a red traffic light appears) you can also see an error analysis by choosing the icon next to the traffic light.

Create conditions with reference

Use the "Create conditions with reference" function for targeting your changes to several conditions (for example, all the conditions for one customer).

  1. Choose Conditions -> Prices -> User-defined -> Create w/ Reference.
  2. Then proceed as described above for condition indexes.

Pricing reports

Use a pricing report to obtain an overview and for running a check.

Choose Conditions -> Pricing reports (In Customizing you can define your own pricing reports for your selection requirements in pricing. For currency conversion, we recommend that you use the new selection for currency with free accrual).

Caution

Technical reasons prevent you being able to select several time periods for a condition record for the "Condition index" and "Create conditions with reference". You can do so in the pricing report but the system does not offer mass data changes. After a mass data change, you should call up the pricing report via the condition index to list all the time periods that still need changing.
