Use
In this Customizing activity you define warranty claim types for the dealer portal.
You must assign the following data to a warranty claim type:
- A warranty claim type that is defined for the back-end system
This warranty claim type has specific control parameters assigned to it that control how warranty claims of a particular claim type are processed in the back-end system.
You can assign the following data to a warranty claim type:
- An object type
When you create a warranty claim type for a recall, the object type is not used. - A layout

You have defined warranty claim types for the back-end system in the Customizing activity Define Warranty Claim Types.

Example
When you create a warranty claim in the dealer portal, the values defined in this Customizing activity are defaulted in the vehicle or part claim. Depending on the warranty claim type, the system also defaults the object type (for example, in a vehicle claim, the object type defaulted is VELO; in a part claim, the object type defaulted is EQUI).
