In this IMG activity, you define document types for the Collateral Management entities, asset and collateral agreement. Document types differentiate the business purpose for which documents are maintained.
By assigning a document type to an external type, you determine the corresponding document type in the external document system. Collateral Management uses this assignment to connect to the external document system to maintain document details of assets and collateral agreements.
Note: You can use document types only if you have carried out the Customizing for implementation of the relevant Business Add-In.
Example
Some possible document types are:
- Declaration of purpose
- Enforceable copy
- Customer correspondence received
- Encumbrance creation document enforceable official copy
- Deed of release
- Grant of equal rank
Requirements
Standard settings
The SAP standard system provides a default implementation CMS_DOC (Document Interface) with SAP Document Management System. To use this default implementation, you must make the required Customizing settings in the Implementation Guide.
