Use

In this activity, you create your own correspondence types. A correspondence type represents the type of letters in the system.

The definition of own correspondence types should be carried out by experienced ABAP developers, and requires the implementation of the following function modules:

  • Creation of correspondence
  • Printing correspondence

Own correspondence types must be developed in the customer name range, otherwise they will be considered as modifications.

The correspondence types are:

  • Offered to the user by the system for selection when processing business transactions or
  • Created automatically according to rules defined by the user or
  • Always created automatically by the system

Requirements

Standard settings

The correspondence type BC00 is provided in the standard system.

Activities

  1. Determine the types of letters that were sent to your customers earlier.
  2. Determine if the correspondence types provided in the standard system meet the requirements of these letters.
  3. Define your own correspondence types if necessary.

Example

Notes

You can use the standard correspondence types. If you want to make changes to them, copy the required correspondence type and change the new correspondence type accordingly. This is necessary since the standard correspondence types could be overwritten during the next change of release.
