In this work step, you can define the layout parameters for the layout of your reports.

SAP has default layouts, "SAP" and "LIS". If you want to define the layout individually, all fields are first filled with the layout parameters from the default layout you have selected. These parameters are proposed values you can overwrite depending on your requirements.

The layout parameters are divided into language-specific and language- independent parameters.

The following input templates are available for the layout definition:

  • Page/control
  • Line totals
  • Line texts
  • Column totals
  • Column texts
  • Display

Note

The SAP default layout "SAP" is delivered with the Report Writer.

Default settings

The standard SAP R/3 System for the Logistics Information System additionally contains the default layout "LIS".

Actions

  1. You want to use the SAP standard layout "SAP" or the standard layout "LIS".

This does not require a configuration.

  2. You want to determine the standard layout for your reports individually.

    Proceed as follows:

    1. Enter a name for your own default layout in field Default layout.
    2. Copy the SAP standard layout you want to use as a reference for your own standard layout by entering the name of the required standard layout in field Copy standard layout.
    3. Press ENTER.
    4. You branch to the input template for the header data.
    5. Enter a description for your standard layout.
    6. The authorization group specification is optional.
    7. The authorization group allows an extended authorization protection for certain objects.
    8. Determine the general page format.
    9. Determine the line parameters.
    10. Determine the parameters for the line texts.
    11. Determine the column parameters.
    12. Determine the parameters for the column texts.
    13. Determine the numeric format of the values to be issued.
    14. Determine the language-specific parameters.
    15. Save your settings.

Note for transport

The default layout is a Report Writer object. Report Writer objects are transported by using a special Customizing function provided especially for it in the productive system. Refer to Description in the Implementation Guide "Special Ledger".

Additional functions

With Utilities -> Layout directory, you branch to the directory which contains the standard layouts for the Report Writer.

Via the Report Writer menu option, you can branch into all of the Report Writer functions.
