You can create a chart of accounts and its accounts by copying one that already exists. This is advisable if you want to use one of the chart of accounts delivered with the standard system and need to make only minor changes to it.
By using the copy function, you need not change the standard chart of accounts. You can choose what specifications are copied. These include the following objects.
- Accounts in the chart of accounts.
Afterwards you only have to create the company code data for the accounts in the chart. To do this, you execute the activity "Copy company code".
In copying the chart of accounts, the system will copy account groups as well as any sample accounts that may exist.
- Account determination for Financial Accounting.
The system will copy all account determination entries that are dependent on the chart of accounts.
- Account determination for Asset Management, Controlling, Materials Management, Human Resources and Sales and Distribution
The integration of all applications means that you can deal with all table entries that are dependent on the chart of accounts directly from the Financial Accounting application. The entries for the individual applications can be created and maintained separately from one another in each case.
- Financial statement version
Here you enter the name of a source as well as the target financial statement version. When copying the source, the system creates a new target version.
Caution
The associated tables may not be maintained at the same time by another user and thus blocked from this activity.
Activity
Select the objects you want to copy in the dialog box. The system then displays the necessary input fields depending on your selections.
