In this step, you specify which user is to search for the cause of the error and which message you want the system to stop at in the program.
You use this function if the system abends for no apparent reason when a error occurs, or if the system displays and logs a message for no apparent reason. The error search allows you to set a breakpoint in the program code so that you can see where the error occurs.
The user performs the function in which the error occurred. The program then stops at the point at which the error was issued. All debugging tools are available.
Actions
- Enter the user name of the user who will perform the debugging.
- Enter the the work area and the message number of the error message.
This identifies the system message from the log.
- When the debug is completed, delete these entries.
