In this step, you create the link between error management and message control.
The condition records for error management link a system message or a group of system messages with conditions for sending messages (such as, the medium, the role of the recipient).
You use a key combination to define whether the conditions are valid for the following:
- A department (such as construction or MRP)
- A message
- A purchasing group
- A laboratory or construction office
- An MRP group
- An MRP controller
- A capacity planner
- A cost center
The conditions records determine the following:
- The partner role
This key determines the role of the recipient.
- The partner
The name of the recipient
- The language
- The medium
This key determines the type of message processing (such as, printout, fax, mail).
- The time
This key determines the time of message processing (such as immediately when a document is saved, or at the next selection run).
Using Communication, you can define further parameters for output control.
Requirements
- You have to create a mail user for each person to whom you want to send a mail.
- You must first process the step "Assign messages".
Standard settings
The standard system has condition type MSG. You can link this condition type to every message you entered in the step "Assign messages".
The SAP standard system contains the following access sequences:
- Organizational units
You can use this key combination to link the condition type with an organizational unit within a department (such as purchasing group 001).
- Department
You can use this key combination to link the condition type to a department (such as purchasing).
- Work area and message number
You can use this key combination to link the condition type to a specific message.
Actions
- Enter the condition type "MSG" and choose "Key combination".
- Select the key combination to which you want to assign the messages.
- Enter the appropriate data for the criterion.
- Role - MP for mail partner
- Partner - appropriate mail user or distribution list
- Medium - 7 for internal mail
- Time of sending - 4 for sending immediately after you save the cost estimate with its error log
- Language
- Choose "communication" and specify, for example, whether the message
- is confidential
- requires action
- can be changed
