Creating Repetitive Manufacturing Profiles Using the Assistant
The repetitive manufacturing profile assistant helps you to create your repetitive manufacturing profiles. It takes you step by step through a series of questions. By answering the questions, you create a profile exactly suited to your production environment. For example, you can define whether you want to use the profile for make-to-stock or make-to-order or whether activities should be backflushed. Depending on each answer you give, the system takes you on to the next appropriate screen.
When you have answered the questions, you can name your new profile and then check your entries in a summary. If all the entries are correct, you can then save the profile. You can, however, change the profile at any later date via Define repetitive manufacturing profiles.
You can also enter an existing profile as a template. In this case, the system defaults the answers to match the settings of the template profile. You can change these answers as you wish and then save the modified profile under a new name.

If you enter a repetitive manufacturing profile as a template, the system sets the default to correspond to the contents of the template profile.
Recommendation
Activities
- Call up the repetitive manufacturing profile assistant.
The pushbuttons Recommendations and Context give you information on the settings you can make in each screen and the effects these settings may have.
- After you answer each question, choose Next.
The next question appears.
- When you have finished, enter a name and a description for the profile.
- You can now check your settings by choosing Summary .
The assistant displays an overview of your entries.
- If desired, choose Back to go back and correct your settings.
- Save your new profile.
