In this step, you define the entry parameters for the planning table:

  • the selection period, which defines the number of days in the period of examination on entering the planning table
  • the view selection, which defines the default view on the initial screen of the planning table, for example, selection by production line or work center hierarchy or MRP controller
  • the way in which the system displays MRP segments
  • Scheduling level determination. Here you can define whether you work in the planning table with lead time scheduling (detailed or rate-based planning) or with Sequencing scheduling.

If you work with Sequencing, define the view of dispatched orders, that is, whether you want to see the planned orders coming onto or leaving the line segment.

If you work with lead time/capacity scheduling, define the following parameters:

  • determination of start date for planned orders in the planning table, for example, start date equal to start of period
  • whether the planned orders or run schedule quantities are sorted into the individual periods on the basis of their order finish dates or their production finish dates
  • the scheduling strategy, which controls whether the system uses backward or forward scheduling
  • if capacity planning active should be selected as default on the initial screen for entering the planning table
  • if only the capactiy categories relevant to scheduling should be displayed in the planning table.
